As a creature whose entire race spans not only the galaxy, but time as well, the Predators have faced off against a rather impressive variety of different opponents. Today, they get ready to take on a new group of prey that includes all sorts of assassins, mercenaries and one rather buff Adrien Brody.
Okay, so Brody is no Schwarzenegger, but under the guiding hand of Robert Rodriguez I have faith that director Nimród Antal (Vacancy, Armored) will be able to squeeze at least a few worthwhile scenes of hardcore gore and violence. Just in case, I've prepared a list of the top 5 Predator Fan Made Match-ups of all time. If you would, Mr. Carl Weathers, ring the bell.
Ewoks vs Predator First up is a rather lightweight massacre between the Ewoks (Star Wars) and a seemingly displaced Predator. I would have imagined it something more like if Gargamel ever found the Smurf village and stomped the smurfing smurf out of it. But things don't always go as planned. What's that old saying... "The bigger they are, the harder they fall?" |
Wolverine vs Predator Now this is what its all about. I just had to include this one, amatuer hour aside because it really speaks to the kid in me. I ask you: who doesn't want to dress up as Wolverine and whip some Predator a-hole? |
Boba Fett vs Predator Another Star Wars tie-in, this time featuring the ever bad-ass assasin Boba Fett. Although this appears to be a trailer for a short fan film, I couldn't find mention of the full film anywhere so I'm going to assume that it never got much of anywhere. Shame really, the trailer makes this look rather convincing... not to mention that's one wicked Predator mask. |
Batman vs Predator(s) Despite some B-level acting between "Batman" and "The Joker," Batman vs Predator is an indie fan-flick that features the Dark Knight chasing after the Joker before being attacked by an Alien who is also subsequently offed by a Predator. Of course Batman, being the unfriendly douche that he is, attacks the Predator that just saved him and the two have a toe-to-toe slobberknocker that ends... well, I can't tell you how it ends, suffice to say that things aren't looking to bright for Bats. |
Robocop vs Predator Another project still very much a work in progress, Robocop vs Predator is a French born labor of love that seems to be the most fitting brawl on this list with two heavyweight opponents each looking to inflict as much damage on one another as possible. Although the trailer for the film (due out last year?) doesn't provide any footage of the actual clash between these sci-fi titans, I prefer to let my imagination take over... at least until the final film is released. |
Wow these are nice. The only one I've ever actually watched is the Batman vs Predator.
There was also a Batman vs Predator comic book.
