It's Time for Adventure!

Or rather it's Adventure Time with Jake and Finn by one of Strange Kid's favorite animation houses, Frederator Studios. One of the most highly anticipated animated debuts in recent history, the story behind Jake and Finn actually spans all the way back to 2005 when series creator Pendleton Ward (The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack, Random! Cartoons) first pitched the concept to Nickelodeon as part of their Random! Cartoons series of shorts.

Unfortunately, the original pilot never aired and was subsequently leaked onto the internet shortly thereafter. As the cartoon gods would have it though, in late 2008 (around the same time that The Misadventures of Flapjack and Chowder premiered), Cartoon Network decided to pick up the story of Jake and Finn and greelit the series for production.

The story, which revolves around a boy (Jake) and his canine companion (Finn) living in the Land of Ooo, has remained relatively untouched throughout its 5 year development (albeit with some cooky cast expansion to compensate for its longer running time) and focuses on the many magical adventures of its main protagonists as they traverse the wonderfully wacky world of Ooo. In other words, its every kid's imaginary Neverland brought to life by a team of adults who are really a bunch of big kids. Kudos to them on a job well done!

Now, where's my plastic shield and Nerf N Force Maurader Long Sword? It's time to slay me some giants.

  1. Well stated sir! This looks like an incredible concept and show. It is my humble opinion that adults NEED to play with more "childish" things...everybody needs a Good Guy Doll. Maybe then they will be able to abandon some of that nasty rationale that tends to muck up the border between reality and fantasy. If only we could fuse the two....*rubs elongated chin*

Couldn't have said it better myself. Its somewhat sad to think that most people lose their childish sense of wonder as they grow.

And oh yeah... are you sure that's your chin your rubbing.
