Its the franchise that makes it okay to say "ass" in public again.
For the uninitiated, Kick-Ass is a comic book turned film written by Mark Millar and illustrated by John Romita, Jr.. Targeted at a more mature comic book reading audience, the series nonetheless features a variety of younger protagonists including the titular vigilante Kick-Ass and the foul-mouthed Hit Girl who roam the underbelly of New York City.
Portrayed in a hyper-realistic fashion (bloody, brutal and violent), these definitely aren't Stan Lee's superheroes. You won't find any grand villain speeches or "let's not hurt anybody" moments of superhero etiquette here. In fact, Millar and Romita, Jr. succeeded in creating such a believable world that the book was optioned by Lionsgate into a film, which is set to be released April 16.
To coincide with the film game developer Frozen Codebase has granted us what you see above, full of bloody violence and high-paced punk anthems, describing it as a "frantic 3D superhero brawler action at its finest with multiple environments, bosses, mini-bosses, and environmental finishers!" I can go along with that, but why only PS3? Where's the XBOX 360 love, I ask you?
