The Autumn Society presents 3G: Gremlines, Goonies and Ghostbusters!

Since I've already done a write-up on this event over at my other (illustration-centric) blogging destination, Fuel Your Illustration, I don't want to regurgitate too much of what I wrote there. However, today marks the premiere of The Autumn Society's 3G opening reception and I felt that they Joseph Game (aka Chogrin) and the rest of the unbelievably talented artists who contributed to the show deserved a shout-out here at the clubhouse.

After all, the subject matter of this show is quintessential strange kid scripture: Gremlins, The Goonies and The Ghostbusters. Highlights of the opening include a life-size replica of Ecto-1, a "real" Ghostbuster, Mattel merchandising and the chance to see a virtual smorgasbord of nerdgasm-inducing artistic goodness. Check out the Fuel Your Illustration link for more info on the when and where of the event and definitely be sure to check out The Autumn Society site for tons of artwork, announcements and bonus goodies!

"When someone asks if you are a God, you say YES!" Hahahaha, good ol' Ernie Hudson and his one good line in the film. That pic at the top o' your post cracked me up.

@Sarah: Yeah, I know! I SO wish I could attend the event in person. I'd have to go with Gremlins as my favorite... scared the #2 outta me when I was a little.

@Astro: There's three pics in that 8-bit style by a fella of the name Jude Buffum (http://www.judebuffum.com/), though I have to admit that this one is my favorite of the bunch.
