Sneak Freak: Dylan Dog (Dead of Night) Trailer!

Every Dog has his Night.

I'll be honest... I'm not 100% how I feel about this film yet. On the one hand, I loved Dellamorte Dellamore (aka Cemetary Man) and how insane that film was, due in no small part to Gnaghi's unhealthy obsession with a girl's disembodied head. Knowing how awesome that film was, and how much better it might have been with a slightly larger budget, I've eagerly anticipated the arrival of this more faithful adaptation of the Dylan Dog universe.

However, after seeing the trailer above (which seemingly has been pulled virtually everywhere off the 'net) I can't help escape the feeling that it's nothing more than a larger scale version of Joss Whedon's Buffy-verse. Granted the film has yet to wrap post-production, but everything from the monsters to the acting just screams Buffy, Xander, Giles and even "The Master" from Season One. Even if these concepts due pre-date Whedon's creations, the execution stills comes off as derivative of the aforementioned vampire slayer.

Marcus (the zombie played by actor Sam Huntington) does an admirable job of portraying Dylan's (Brandon Routh) comical sidekick, but he's no Gnaghi. And Taye Diggs as the major villain? Seriously?

I think this is an argument for WB to just go ahead and make another "Superman" movie... I prefer them as Clark and Jimmy, anyway. :)

@LaDracul: Haha, touche. Routh was "okay" in the few episodes of Chuck last season, but his Superman was simply dreadful in my opinion.
