Have you ever dreamt of seeing your favorite horror boogeymen slug it out super-brawl style? (I know I have). Well now, thanks to a small group of designers and programmers led by concept artist/animator Marc Echave, we all have the opportunity to live the dream with their terrifying tribute to horror entitled Terrordrome. A FREE, PC fangame in the mold of Mortal Kombat or Street Fighter, Terrordrome v2 (2008) features a major improvement in graphics from the team's previous attempt only a year prior. The astounding level of detail found in each sprite, in addition to the presentation of the character select screens (using the actual film logos) and the authenticity to how each monster moves, really goes a long way to showcase the team's genuine appreciation for the genre. Not to mention a ghoulish gallery of playable characters from the 80s and 90s that includes: Ashley Williams, Freddy Krueger, Michael Myers, Leatherface, Jason Voorhees (human), Chucky, and Ghostface. Non-playable characters featured are Maniac Cop, Candyman, Tallman, Herbert West, and Pinhead. Go ahead, wipe the drool off your keyboard, I'll wait.
Although their site hasn't been updated in some time, a demo is still available for download in addition to a few other visual treats. One can only hope that the developers will return for round three.
