Its not nice to mess with Mother Nature.
What could be worse than killer alien plants, you ask? How about oversized, mutant, killer ticks? That sure makes my skin crawl... and itch.
For my money there's nothing quite as creepy as blood-sucking bugs. They're like small, kamikaze vampires that can live off of you for days before ultimately dying off from self-indulgence. Even if you find the little bastards, its still a pain to remove them properly without having them "spit up" in you or leaving their teeth behind.
Well, it would seem as though director Tony Randel found a way to make the f*ckers even scarier by placing a magnifying glass over the film lens. And whose ultimately to blame for these evil ectoparasites? Pot farmers. That's right, kiddos, drugs are bad and pot is really a gateway to horribly perverse transmutations of nature. The film also stars horror veterans Seth Green (Idle Hands, Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Clint Howard (Ice Cream Man, The Dentist 2) and (believe it or not) Carlton from Fresh Prince (Alfonso Ribeiro).
So what's the moral of this story? Don't f*ck around in the woods or a giant tick will tear your face off.
I saw this movie with my friend Kaleb back in the day. We rented it and I remember him running into my room during one of the gorier scenes. I actually watched this movie last summer with a six pack of beer outside on my patio at Summertree. Brought back a lot of memories my friend. You can watch the whole thing on Youtube.
